Syllabus

Supplies
  1. 1” or 1 ½” or 2” binder,
  2. 1 package of dividers,
  3. loose-leaf notebook paper,
  4. spiral notebook,
  5. ruler,
  6. pencils (mechanical acceptable),
  7. dry-erase marker(s),
  8. graph paper,
  9. 4 AAA batteries,
  10. 1 box of tissue.

Homework Policy
Every student will be expected to complete all homework that is assigned.  It is a must in order to be successful in
this class.  Late work will be made up in homework academy.

Make-up work
Students have 3 days to complete make-up work if the class was missed due to an absence.  It is the student’s
responsibility to pick up the work missed on the first day back to class.

Tests
Test are given when the student’s comprehension of a concept needs to be checked.  Every Friday a short quiz will
be given to check the week’s progress.  Due to an unacceptable grade or an absence, a student may re-take a
test/quiz within a week of the test/quiz being given.  It is advisable to attend tutoring before taking the re-test.  All
re-tests must be taken during tutoring.

Tutoring
Tutoring will be held Tuesday/Thursday from 8:00-8:30a.m. and Monday/Thursday from 4:00-4:30 p.m. (no
appointment needed).  Students may earn points for tests/quizzes and homework / class work assignments during
tutoring.

Attendance Policy
In order for students to be successful, it is extremely important to be in class every day.  On the 3rd absence, the
student’s name will be turned in to the office.  On the occasion of the 10th absence, a student may lose credit for
the entire semester.

Textbooks and Workbooks
Each student will be issued a textbook for home use.

Policies and Procedures
The following is prohibited in the classroom:  Cell Phones, CD Players, Boys’ Earrings, Hats, Food and drinks.  If cell
phones are seen or heard in the classroom, they will be taken up and turned in to the office.  You may not listen to
CD players in the classroom.  They will be taken up if this policy is not followed.  Boys may not wear earrings to
school because it is against District Policy.  If my students have them on they will receive a warning.  If they have
them on again, the earring(s) will be taken.  Students will be asked to remove their hats indoors.  No food or drink
is allowed in the classroom or hallway.
To help the students have a successful year, it is necessary to have the support of the parents.  Please sign below
